Rev. Casey Moffett-Chaney is the co-founder, Director and Senior Minister of The Portland Center for Spiritual Growth. In addition to giving the Sunday messages, she writes and develops the curriculum for ministerial and leadership studies, teaches most of the classes, counsels individuals, coaches couples, and directs the overall operations.
Casey is the author of two nationally distributed self-help books. The first, Pardon My Dust...I'm Remodeling, was published in 1990. This book addresses the topic of Character Building as it relates to overcoming problems of self-esteem, chronic crises, and relationships. Ready, Willing & Terrified - A Coward's Guide to Risk-taking was published in 1991. Casey outlines a 7-step process for making decisions and taking steps that turn each risk into a successful endeavor. Both books are available through Amazon.com or through The Portland Center for Spiritual Growth Click to Order.
Casey has a degree in Music Education from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music in Stockton, California. She served as a public school music educator for 10 years before studying for the ministry.

Casey and Berdell were introduced by mutual friends at a picnic in Las Vegas, Nevada when both were living and working there. They made a life-long commitment in 1983 and moved to the Portland area in 1984 with their son, Corey. On May 1, 2004, Casey and Berdell were legally married in Victoria, BC, Canada.
In 1986, they both quit their professional careers to be stay-at-home moms. During this time, they operated a computer consultation business out of their home called The Computer Ladies.
Casey and Berdell did their ministerial studies at the Living Enrichment Institute, the educational branch of the Living Enrichment Center, graduating in 1992. In September of that year, Casey and Berdell founded The God Connection (now known as The Portland Center for Spiritual Growth) by holding Sunday services in the living room of their Beaverton home.
Recently, Casey, Berdell, and their son, Corey invented a cat product out of sheer need. They called it the MeowSpace®, and you can see it at www.meowspace.biz.
